The Vizoshi Cocktail Shaker Set

The First Sip: I was so excited to put this one to work, but the “first sip” turned into a first spill. The metal on this set felt a bit thin, and as soon as I added ice, it got cold very quickly—almost too cold to hold comfortably. During that very first shake, it leaked quite a bit around the seal. I really wanted to love the flow of this set, but it’s hard to enjoy the process when you’re worried about the cleanup before you’ve even tasted the drink!

The Vibe: It has such a sophisticated, modern look, but the performance just didn’t match the aesthetic. I really tried to make it work—I adjusted my grip, checked the alignment, and tried various ways to secure the lid, but nothing helped the leaking. On the bar cart, it looks like a professional piece of kit, but in practice, it’s more for display than for a busy mocktail hour.

Comparisons: Compared to some of the heavier, vintage-style shakers I’ve thrifted, this one feels a bit more temperamental. It’s a reminder that sometimes the classics have a seal that just can’t be beat.

Thrifty Tip: Before you commit to a new shaker, always run a “water test” over the sink with just ice and water. It’ll save you from wasting your favorite ingredients if the seal isn’t tight!
