Saturday Soul-Pour: Discernment

Ebb, flow, and the dance of refinement. 🌊✨

There is an ebb and flow to our lives, much like the ocean. It’s a dance, if you will, between our feelings and the refinement of our insight.

If I’m being honest, I am a naturally indecisive person. I’m the one who “hems and haws” just like the tide—moving toward a choice, then pulling back, unsure if it’s the right one. I think many of us stay stuck in that loop because we’re trying to navigate based on those shifting feelings.
But feelings change with the wind; they are rarely a steady place to build a life.

The Word tells us to “guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” If we let our emotions take the lead, our course is going to be as unpredictable as the waves.

I’ve learned that God doesn’t want us to just make a decision; He wants us to move with discernment. Discernment is that quiet, steady pull on your heart that says, “This is the way, walk in it.” It’s the refinement of our spirit that helps us hear the “still, small voice” over the crashing of our own “what-ifs.” 🗺️🙏

Choosing the right path isn’t about following the loudest wave—it’s about trusting the One who knows exactly where the shore is.

Are you a “decide in a second” person, or do you find yourself hemming and hawing like me? Tell me in the comments! 🤔
