The Emerald Ease Mocktail

This is a spa day in a glass. I created The Emerald Ease, an alcohol-free drink, for those days when my RA flares and I just need to feel cool. Cucumber is incredibly hydrating for joint tissue, and fresh basil is a medicinal powerhouse with natural anti-inflammatory effects. It’s crisp, savory, and feels like a complete system reset.
Servings: 1

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Thick Cucumber Slices
  • 6 Fresh Basil Leaves
  • 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • ½ oz Siimple Syrup
  • Top with Sparkling Water or a light Ginger Ale

Method
 

  1. In a shaker, muddle the cucumber slices, basil leaves, and syrup until the cucumber is smashed and the basil is fragrant.
  2. Add the lime juice and fill the shaker with ice.
  3. Shake well.
  4. Strain into a chilled glass over fresh ice.
  5. Top with the sparkling water. Stir gently from the bottom.

Notes

When you stir the drink from the bottom, be sure not to over-stir so not to lose the bubbles.
